There is always a secret to successful presentations, and there is ‘attitude that a presenter must have’ for successful presentation.
In some cases, some people enjoy giving presentations, but at most of the times many people feel burdened and nervous about giving presentations.

Most of presenters who feel so burdened and nervous about presentation may hold presentation materials in their hand and read it down rather than giving presentation. And in some other cases, they will turn their body toward the screen, not towards the audience, and start dreading what’s shown on the screen.

Attitude required for a Presenter ①

 How attractive a presenter is decided by the Attitude.

Regardless of the type of presentation, a presenter must take a role of a main character on the stage.

Can you imagine a main character on a play reading his/her line from a script? Probably not. It’s the same thing for a presenter.
A presenter should not turn his/her body back on audience and facing the screen- they must give presentation facing the audience.

A presenter must find a spot where s/he can face audiences and utilize the slides(screen) when needed.

If you have found the spot, then you have to take a comfort posture.
A small movement can be seen as distracted and buzzed to audiences.

On the other hand, If a presenter is strained, s/he will find his/her body being stiffened and tend to find mental stability by moving his/her body.
However, these kind of behavior is just like proving that you are lacking in confidence.

 Posture that can give sense of stability to audiences

➊ Stand at a spot where you can see all audiences well.
➋ It must be a spot where you can see the slides naturally.
➌ Square your shoulders and check the balance.
➍ Put both feet on the ground securely.
➎ Do not hover around moving your feet unnecessarily.
(However, it’s okay to move your path with a purpose.)
➏ When you look at the screen(slides), make sure that you don’t turn your back on audiences.
(Refer to the slides with natural eye contact and posture.)
➐ Postures such as Holding hands together, putting and holding your hands back, folding your arms and etc. will make it hard to show your audiences that you are confident.

 Fashion for a Presenter

A Presentation is a part of business and you must be prepared with an appropriate fashion.

What a presenter wears is not just a matter of his/her fashion taste but more of an importation role of giving faith to audiences.
So, it’s good to wear a suit in general.

Wearing black color may make you look authoritative and stiff, so it’s good to avoid.
Navy color suit is recommended since it can make you look clam and give faith to audiences.

During Summer season, it’s recommended to hear a jacket, and it’s good to not wear sandals, sleeveless shirts and fancy accessories.

 Look of a Presenter

The first impression of a presenter is as important as an opening of a presentation.
A presenter’s smile and cheerful look on face is a must-have.

From the moment when you walk out to the audience and until you greet, you must control audiences with your bright look and leisurely smile on your face.
But, once you start your presentation, you must change look on your face depending on the flow and contents of presentation.

Bright and positive look on face, eyes that gives faith, serious expression and etc.- Let’s not forget that ‘A Presenter’s Look and Expression’ is another language to audiences.

In addition, it’s good to have as many eye contacts as you can with each one of the audiences.
Too much movement of your eyes may lower the concentration level and make you seem nervous, so make sure too make eye contacts with one person for at least 3 seconds.
