What is the limitations of presentation?
Presentations are widely used in various fields like promotions, bidding and etc. these days. Then, what is the purpose of using presentations? It will depend on what you plan to talk about to whom. In large, you can classify presentations into 6 parts- PR, bidding, events, education, reports and IR. Each field or part has its own characteristics as to how the stories are developed, contents are prepared and structured.
What would be the first and most important step you have to take when you prepare for your presentation? It’s eventually understanding the goal and purpose of your presentation.
PR : a presentation with clear characteristics or messages aimed to be asserted laying stress on corporate and brand, products and etc.
Bidding : a presentation covering professional contents for processing public and private bid.
Events : a presentation for delivering messages to a large number of audiences in large sized spaces like forums, exhibitions and etc.
Education : a presentation for performing effective lectures depending on the level of trainees.
Reports: a presentation prepared based on the basic formats and outlines set and fixed for various internal and external reports.
IR: a corporate or company’s sales presentation prepared with purposes to be acknowledged for investment values and enter new businesses
1. PR Presentation
‘PR Presentation’ holds purposes to deliver information on corporate’s brand value, vision, products and etc.to the audiences. It’s one of the general presentations – introducing products that you want to mainly inform while showing corporate’s images through key messages (concepts). PR presentation usually includes cases targeting unspecified majority and cases targeting specific minority. So, conducting detailed analysis on the audiences is very important.
– Types of Contents: company overview, history, organization status, human resources status, field of business, vision, strategy, capability, finance, performance, profitability and etc.
2. Bidding Presentation
‘Bidding Presentation’ is a presentation produced with the purpose to win a contract on business that a corporate or institutions order. In this case, you are pretty much clear who the audiences are, so it’s more focused on implementing strategies to persuade the audiences. In general it’s planned in the similar manner as that of proposals, and articulating by maximizing the discrimination between other company and advantages and strength of one’s own company is considered important. Therefore, it’s a presentation in which elaborate analysis and strategy on competitors must be accompanied.
– Types of contents: possessed technology, organization chart, finance, proposal background, purposes, ranges, strong advantages of proposal, expected effects, environment analysis, execution plan and etc.
3. Event Presentation
In general, ‘event presentation’ is implemented targeting unspecified majority visiting the event place. But, the unspecified majority are mainly formed with those who are interested in the relevant fields or who are in charge of works in similar fields. Therefore, you must pay attention to adjusting and managing the difficulty level of contents put together. Also, you need systematic strategy on how much of impact you are going to give depending on the atmosphere and moods of the event hall.
– Types of contents : vision, key advantages, core competencies, progress status and etc.
4. Education Presentation
‘Education Presentation’ is a type of presentation that are used in colleges most of the times. Especially there are many cases where it’s produced with the purpose to introduce colleges and college fair or briefing session on admission requirements. Therefore, there are many cases where major audiences are teenagers and the overall level of difficulty is not too high. If it’s a presentation produced for internal and external school promotions, the advantages and strength of the school is emphasized by utilizing highly reliable reference data.
– Types of contents : Status of school, employment status, minor classes, types and methods of college admissions, and etc.
5. Report Presentation
‘Report Presentation’ is produced with the purpose of giving internal and external reports. It’s called with various names, such as pre-report, mid report, completed report and etc., depending on the schedules of the project or business. Report Presentations are usually given to the superior authority. Therefore, organizing the presentation in a way that progress and results can be viewed at a glance is the key.
– Types of contents : overview of business, background, purpose, ranges, main contents, enforcement results, expected effects and etc.
6. IR Presentation
‘IR Presentation’ is usually produced by companies and it’s produced with the purpose to induce investment on corporate or businesses. Simply delivering information is not the purpose or goal of IR presentation, but it intensively looks into the actual value and economic profits. So, elements like diagrams, charts and graphs are often used. It’s important that you form story lines that breathe life into the theme, not complicated by putting the right elements in the right place in accordance with the overall flow of the presentation.
– Types of contents : company overview, capital, current state of share holders, market size, growth strategy, portfolio, road map and etc.
