Overflowing with a variety of contents lead to various performances.
Especially the Summer is getting hotter every year with heat wave warnings, and performances and concerts based on ‘water’ concept are gaining popularity.
Paying money to get slapped with water?
You will probably know that audiences have paid being aware of the concept of performance and that expect to see contents worth of what they had paid.

Just like a singer who appropriately uses contents and performances that matches well with the concept so that the audiences are not disappointed,
a presenter also must prepare the SHOW for audiences.

Just like a performance with clear concept, presentations also have clear purpose and messages presenters want to deliver through his/her presentation must be clear too.
And, it’s audiences’ duty to judge whether the messages are delivered well or not.

Let’s check out some tips for giving presentations for audiences, by audiences and of audience.

■ Of Audience, By Audience: Who are audience of my presentation? Figure out the characteristics of audience!

Let’s take a look at a case of a famous trot singer.
He always prepares his performances in two different versions. And find out the age of audiences the day and show the performances that best fists for the day’s audience.
Various performances will bring a variety of reactions from audience.

Presenters also must analyze audience and prepare.
Even though a presenter give his/her presentations using terminologies, it will go through on ear and out the other if the audience are not aware of the terms.

Figuring out the age of audience is as important as knowing the knowledge level of audiences in the related field.
If most of the audiences are non-professionals in the field, presenter must explain using simpler and easier words then terminologies.

■ For Audience: when giving presentations, the one hold the microphone is ‘myself’, it’s ‘audience’ holding the microphone when doing Q&A.

Audience going to a ‘play in water’ concept concert will choose to wear simple style cloths and women will use water proof makeup preparing to get wet.
Audience make sure that they figure out the concept of the concert and prepare for it – as much as they have invested their money and time in, and they will also evaluate the concert as they walk out.

Let’s take a look at bidding, IR and report type presentations as an example.
These type of presentations will have the host as the audience, and audience are the host.
Therefore, there is a high possibility that the audience have some professional knowledge knowing the purpose of the presentation better than the presenter.

Now, once you have the type of presentation figured out, it’s much easier to figure out audience having the range of audience reduced.
Based on this, presenters must quickly figure out who are going to ask questions and why they are asking the questions.
In addition, presenters much double check if the answers that they are preparing for the expected questions are something audience can easily understand.

Audience did not ‘give’ the microphone to you, they have ‘lent’ it to you.
In another word, Q&A time for audience is ‘having their microphone back’.
Audience don’t use their time carelessly.
